Industrial visits

Butex Business Club recently completed a series of successful industrial visits, providing valuable insights and exposure to its members. The diverse group of students, representing various departments and batches, visited:

Square Textiles Ltd.: The inaugural visit offered a glimpse into the cotton yarn manufacturing process and cutting-edge technologies.
Dysin Chem Industries (PVT.) LTD: This visit showcased the intricate world of textile dyeing and printing, emphasizing the role of dyestuff and chemicals.
Blucheez: The members gained firsthand experience of the front end of the apparel industry, learning about brand management and the challenges faced by a rising brand.
Bureau 555: This visit explored the innovative field of 3D fabric digitization, highlighting its applications and real-world implications.

Throughout these visits, club members actively engaged with industry professionals, asking questions, gaining practical knowledge, and witnessing the dynamic landscape of the textile sector.

TEXPRES 2023

Butex Business Club proudly announces the resounding success of TEXPRES 2023, the country’s first-ever textile-based inter-university business case competition, powered by DYSIN Group.

The competition witnessed outstanding performances from a pool of talented participants, showcasing their passion, dedication, and problem-solving prowess in the dynamic textile sector.

The Grand Finale served as a culmination of intense preparation and intellectual rigor, where student teams tackled real-world business challenges presented by industry experts. Throughout the competition, participants displayed their analytical and strategic skills, collaboration and teamwork, presentation, and communication skills.

Butex Business Club extends its heartfelt congratulations to the well-deserved winners and expresses its immense gratitude to all participants for their outstanding dedication and contribution to the competition’s success. Additionally, heartfelt appreciation goes to the sponsors, partners, judges, mentors, volunteers, and everyone who played a pivotal role in making TEXPRES 2023 a remarkable event.

Workshop on: How to ace a business case

Butex Business Club hosted a dynamic workshop titled “How to Ace a Business Case: Sharpening Your Analytical & Strategic Skills” on October 1st, 2023, at the BUTEX Auditorium. This session served as valuable preparation for TEXPRES 2023, the country’s first textile-based inter-university business case competition powered by Dysin Group.

Led by renowned author and educator, Sadman Sadik, the workshop equipped participants with the key tools and techniques needed to excel in business case competitions. The workshop received an overwhelming response, with participants expressing their appreciation for Sadman Sadik’s insightful guidance and practical tips. The Butex Business Club extends its heartfelt gratitude to Sadman Sadik and all participants for contributing to the success of this empowering event.

Workshop on: Discover the Tools & Techniques of Solving A Business Case

Butex Business Club recently hosted a successful workshop titled “Discover the Tools & Techniques of Solving A Business Case,” led by industry expert Md. Monjur, Director of Business Development at Mahtabs Care and DS 360.

This insightful session drew a large audience of participants eager to gain valuable skills for the upcoming TEXPRES 2023 competition, a platform designed to test students’ abilities in tackling real-world business challenges within the textile industry.

The workshop delved into the fundamentals of effectively approaching and solving a business case. Participants gained knowledge on analyzing and solving business cases, crafting compelling communication, and mastering the art of Q&A.

Beyond the core skills, the workshop also provided specific guidance and strategies for excelling in TEXPRES 2023, equipping students with the confidence and knowledge to showcase their problem-solving prowess in the competition.

CV Writing Workshop

Butex Business Club recently hosted a successful workshop on “CV Writing” for students from batches 46, 47, and 48. The workshop aimed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to craft compelling CVs that showcase their strengths and achievements effectively.

The workshop received positive feedback from attendees, who appreciated the clear and concise guidance provided by the speaker. Participants found the interactive session valuable, allowing them to ask questions and receive personalised advice.

 

This engaging session proved to be a valuable resource for the participating students, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to create compelling CVs that showcase their potential to future employers.

Entrepreneurial Talk 2023

BUTEX Business Club presents ‘Entrepreneurial Talk 2023’ took place on May 30, 2023, at the BUTEX Auditorium. The renowned Chief Speaker was Engr. Shafiqur Rahman, Managing Director, HAMS Group, and President, Institution of Textile Engineers and Technologists (ITET). His knowledge and insights into entrepreneurship captivated and motivated the audience to a great extent. Dr. Mohammad Abbas Uddin Shiyak, Moderator, BUTEX Business Club, and Assistant Professor, Department of Dyes & Chemical Engineering, attractively moderated the session and facilitated an insightful discussion. Distinguished faculty from various departments graced us with their presence. Their supports and contributions provided enormous value to the event. The session presented important insights into the world of entrepreneurship, emphasizing key methods for success, overcoming obstacles, and capitalizing on opportunities. Engr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman spoke about his personal path and put light on the vital characteristics of a successful entrepreneur.

Road To MIT

The seminar titled ‘Road To MIT’ place in 2022. Key note speaker of the session was
one of the brightest minds of BUTEX, ‘Ikra Shuvo’. He is currently a Graduate Research Assistant, Conformable Decoders,
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Tenant, Center for Nano scale Systems, Harvard University. The principle theme of the seminar was ‘Wet Processing Chemistry
to Conformable Decoding for Biomedical Industries’. The speaker was immaculate; inspired all of the students with his speech
and life story!

Professional Talk 2022

Key-note speaker of ‘Professional Talk 2022’ was
Monowar Hossain Palash, Director, Asutex, MD,
Inobiz.ca. He talked about the textile industry’s survival in the 4th industrial revolution, the road map for achieving his successful career, and also shared opportunities for girls in the textile field and how can they take the advancement of textiles further.

TEXPRES 2.0

After all the chaos of pandemic, BUTEX Business Club is back again this year with its Intra University Business Case Competition titled TEXPRES 2.0!
The champion team of
Texpres 2.0 was ‘Hope
Mechanism’, ‘Team Alternate Angle’ became 1st runner up and 2nd runner up ‘Team Green’.
 

Morrison TexBiz 2019

Thriving in a multi-billion-dollar industry, it requires professionalism and higher cognitive skills. It needs to be equipped with fast decision-making capability and timely response of the problems arising with the most feasible business solutions. We believe that a student should be trained as a competent entity having skills beyond their educational knowledge to excel in their future career and entrepreneurial ventures. Being a part of Bangladesh, we cannot deny the influence of textile sector in its economy. But sadly, many of us don’t even have the proper idea of how to manage the industry with our skills and brilliance. This is where BUTEX Business Club comes in once again with its flagship event, Morrison TEXBIZ 2019!

Dysin TexBiz 2018

After the immense success of last year’s event ‘Archroma TEXBIZ 2017’, BUTEX Business Club this year set the stage again for the students of different universities from all over the country by launching “DYSIN TEXBIZ 2018″. It is an inter-university business case competition where Dysin-Chem Ltd was the title sponsor. Team Lajuk from IBA-DU won the first position in the competition.About 106 teams from 23 universities and textile institutes participated this year. This Competition had several rounds where the participant showed their potential and ability to solve the different issue. The first round was online round, the second round was presentation round and the third round was the grand finale.

TEXPRES 2018

The final round of TEXPRES 2018, an intra-university business case competition has been organized by BUTEX Business Club on 8 December, 2018 at Bishwa Shahitto Kendro auditorium that was sponsored by AUX & HUE, a leading dyes supplying company in Bangladesh.The competition started on November 30 with an online case-solving round, where around 60 teams from BUTEX participated. And seven teams were selected for the final round. Rashidul Islam Russel, CEO, AUX & HUE; Saraf Anjum Disha, Urban Planner, Dept. of URP, BUET; Mubasshir Tahmid, CEO, Tetra were the judges of the final round.

Entrepreneurial Talk 2018

On Wednesday, October 31st, a seminar was organized by BUTEX Business Club named “Archroma presents Entrepreneurial Talk 2018” in Bangladesh University of Textiles Auditorium. In that seminar Senior Vice-President of BGMEA Faruk Hasan, CEO of Doctorola.com Mohammad Abdul Matin Emon, Managing Director of SAAD Knitwear Khairul Islam were present. Also Quamrul Ahsan CIP, Chairman of Ahsan Composite Ltd, was present on the seminar.

Professional Talk 2018

Organized by BUTEX Business Club, “Professional Talk 2018” presented by ACI Chemicals took place on the 27th of September, 2018 Thursday afternoon at the seminar room, Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX). Last year the show invited guests from denim sectors. An exception to that, this year the show invited professionals from a diversified field of the textile industry.Shariful Kabir Sharif (General Manager of marketing, Envoy textile Ltd), Rajaul Karim (General Manager of production, Rising Knit Textiles Ltd.) and Rashedul Islam (Product Manager, woven, H&M) were the guest speakers who shared their valuable insights and success stories with us.

Archroma TexBiz 2017

Archroma TexBiz 2017, the first ever business case competition focusing on the textile industry organized by BUTEX Business Club was held on 15-16 April. 26 teams from 13 universities around the country registered for this case competition. Students came from business schools as well as engineering schools competed with each other to show their creativity, teamwork and spirit. TexBiz was also the first business case competition organized by BUTEX Business Club.

Entrepreneurial Talk 2017

Many of us intend to do something for ourselves and for our society. But this is only our irresolution that hinders us from going forward. BUTEX Business Club, therefore arranged Huntsman presents Entrepreneurial Talk ‘17 to inspire students and to provide first-hand ideas of entrepreneurship, on October 17, 2017.Some renowned entrepreneurs and enthusiasts of this generation & students of BUTEX came togetherin BUTEX auditorium to exchange ideas.Among them were- Saiful Islam khan (MD, essential clothing), Abdus Sobhan CIP (MD, Auko-Tex group) & Mahmudul Hasan Sohag (Chairman, Onnorokom Group).

Professional Talk 2017

The ‘Professional Talk’ is a brainchild of BUTEX Business Club with the motto of bringing well respected and successful professionals to BUTEX campus to share insights on effective leadership, their personal core values, and lessons learned throughout their career, primarily with a number of enthusiastic students from outgoing batches. Since its first inception in 2017, BUTEX Business Club has been organizing this student-led talk show program that creates rich learning experiences for the student that leave lasting impressions long after they leave their grad school to start their new career.

Workshop on Fundamentals of Marketing Strategy

BUTEX Business Club arranged the workshop on Fundamentals of Marketing Strategy on 2 February, 2019, Saturday at around 09:30am in BUTEX Seminar Room. Thanks to all the participants who have the courage to overcome any obstacle to discover & reveal their hidden talents through gathering knowledge.
And gratitude to Tanzir Islam, former student of IBA, University of Dhaka for his valuable time & for an impact creating interactive session.
However, wherever you are, whatever you want to become, try to develop these two skills: Analytical ability & ability to say what you want to say, according to Tanzir Islam.
